The car loader crane, or loading and unloading crane, in addition to being a tool on trucks to make loading and unloading more efficient, is also a specific type of mobile crane.
Combined with various accessories, the car loader crane can be used to perform heavy and complicated lifting tasks.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act stipulates that employers must ensure, that their personnel are adequately trained. Moreover, the requirements for a machinist's knowledge and understanding are getting higher and higher.

The driver of the truck-mounted crane with hoisting function with a load moment of 10 ton-meters or more must legally be in possession of the TCVT-W4-04 Certificate 'Driver of a Truck-mounted Crane with Hoisting Function'. Working Conditions Regulations Article 7.6

It is often very unclear whether one is talking about only loading and unloading one's own vehicle or about performing lifting operations. Therefore the advice on behalf of the insurance companies is to use the TCVT Certificate at all times when in doubt.

The training has been developed in close cooperation with the industry and a number of leading suppliers of truck-mounted cranes. The training is also fully tailored to the exam, which is based on the certification scheme "Driver of a Truck Crane with Hoisting Function" of the Supervision Certification Foundation for Vertical Transport (TCVT RA). In this training course, attention is therefore paid not only to loading and unloading one's own vehicle, but also to setting up, modifying and operating the truck-mounted crane, its stability and load capacity and, of course, the technical systems.

There is also instruction in working with approved lifting tools and an approved truck-mounted crane. The emphasis of the training is on the aspect of safety, as practice shows that improper use of the crane and lifting tools carries very high risks.

Persons wishing to participate in training must be 18 years of age or older and medically fit.

This entire training is in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Decree Article 8

The employer shall ensure that workers are provided with effective instruction on working conditions appropriate to their various tasks.
